I started in karting before moving to auto racing in 1996 in the Formula Atlantic series. In 2000, I joined the Champ Car series, where I achieved several podium finishes and a memorable victory at Road America in 2004.
In 2008, I made the jump to the IndyCar Series. I competed in the Indianapolis 500 seven times, with a tenth-place finish in 2010 and, most notably, the pole position in 2011—the first Canadian in history to start at the front of the greatest race in the world.
I then turned to NASCAR, where I raced in the Xfinity and Cup series, and especially in the Canadian series, which became my home turf. Thirteen wins later, I am still racing today, behind the wheel of the No. 80 Theetge Motorsport car on road courses.
In 2026, I co-founded Tag One Motorsport. After all these years as a professional driver, building our own team while continuing to compete at the highest level is a dream come true.
